TOPIC: EMPOWERMENT FOR VICTORY
Meditation:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Today’s Text: Acts 1:4-8
When Jesus told His disciples of His imminent departure, they were filled with sorrow because they could not imagine what would become of their future. Jesus saw through their fears and hopelessness and promised them the Comforter who would reside inside of them. We have now been empowered to live the Christian life by reason of the Holy Ghost in us. Every born again, spirit-filled believer possesses a ready empowerment to deal with every circumstance of life.
Irrespective of the circumstances that assail us, we need to remain conscious of the fact that God is in residence. His purpose for residing in us is to give us victory and to guarantee our success as Christians. We only need to walk in the light of this consciousness to live a victorious Christian life for greater is He that is in us than the devil orchestrating what we are passing through. God is for us, God is with us and God is in us. Against this background, we ought to see ourselves in a different light.
We may feel dry and it may seem that the Holy Ghost is not there. This situation made Paul to encourage Timothy to stir up the gifts of the Holy Spirit which he had when hands were laid on him. The Holy Spirit therefore needs to be stirred up. When we are downcast we must remember that God is inside of us. It does not matter whether you are passing through a valley or ascending a mountain, God is in residence. This revelation is a reminder that victory is sure. If God is with us, nobody can be against us.
Prayers:
1. Prayerfully see the Holy Spirit as your strength in the time of weakness.
2. Ask for the grace to walk by faith and to manifest the power of God at all times.
Confession:
Dear Lord, I awaken your ability in me to confront every challenge.
