TOPIC: THE SECRET OF BECOMING MIGHTY.
READ: 2 CHRONICLES 27:1-9
MEMORISE: Jotham grew powerful because he walked steadfastly before the Lord his God". (2 Chronicles 27:6)
King Jotham was the king who succeeded King Uzziah. He reigned well, walked steadily and constantly in the way of the LORD that his fathers had earlier walked in. He repaired the gate of the house of the Lord and fortified the wall of Ophel. He built cities in the mountains of Judah. He conquered the enemies. He also became mighty in wealth, power, and had influence upon the neighbouring nations. He was able to achieve these because he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord. He prepared his ways before the LORD his God. He did not commit the great fault of his father - Uzziah (2 Chro. 26:16). Though, he lived a shorter life, compared to that of his father, yet, he finished with honour.
For any Christian to become successful, mighty, and also finish well and strong in life, one should emulate King Jotham - do what is right in the sight of the Lord, as the Bible will be your guide. Be conscious of the presence of Jehovah, and constantly look up to His face in order to see what pleases Him, so that you can order your life, accordingly. Also, learn from the mistakes of those who have fallen, never to tread their accursed path (cf. 1 Cor. 10:11). Do you order your ways before JEHOVAH, your God? Where are your eyes focused? On the world? On the television set? On friends? Or, on Christ? (Col. 3:1ff; Heb. 12:4). Where your mind is focused would determine what your life becomes, at the end of the day (cf. Matt. 6:21).
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, help me so that it will be convenient for me to do your will at all time.
2. Father, let your Word be my anchor as I journey through life in order not to derail from faith.
3. Father, please help the leaders of your people to leave godly legacy to their followers as they follow You with the whole of their heart.
