CHRIST :THE PERFECT HIGH PRIEST OF LEVITICUS:

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.(Hebrew 4:14).

Dear brothers and sisters,we are still on this great discovery journey in search of this unique personality that so significantly affected the entire human history-Jesus Christ, as was revealed to us in all the books of the Bible.Today,we are berthing at the book of Leviticus where He is revealed to us as the perfect High Priest(Leviticus chapters 8,9,10). Let us look at His perfect priesthood in the following lights:

1.THE UNPARALLELD PEDIGREE OF THE PERFECT HIGH PRIEST:For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;(Heb.7:
25).

This book of Leviticus is the book of offerings and sacrifices for sins' atonement.Aaron was consecrated a high priest to carry out this sacrificial duties along with a retinue of other priests under him.However,his priesthood was not without imperfections that where born out of his human frailties and foibles.That was why God set him up as a mere typology of Jesus Christ,the perfect High Priest with an unparalleled, inimitable and intimidating pedigree who intermediates between us and the almighty God.

2.THE ULTIMATE POWER OF THE PERFECT HIGH PRIEST: And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (Luke 5:20,24a).

The power that Jesus Christ possesses is multi-purposeful.Among other numerous things that this power does is to forgive the sins of repentant sinners. Christ Jesus possesses the exclusive and exceptional power to forgive sins and infractions against the law of God.He has this unique and peculiar power and authority to forgive all sins when they are repented of.And,you know what,He can forgive you right where you are if you will repent of all your sins and call upon Him.

3.OUR UNMERITED PARDON FROM THE PERFECT HIGH PRIEST: Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon(Isaiah 55:6,7).

Oh! What a glorious experience to have all our sins,not just pardoned,but pardoned abundantly.Pardoned completely.Pardoned generously.That is what Jesus,the High Priest, wants to do in your life this day.Why not give Him a chance by forsaking your sinful ways and your unrighteous thoughts?May God help you to that in Jesus name.
