CHRIST: THE JUDGE OF ALL MEN IN THE BOOK OF JUDGES:
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; (2 Timothy 4:1).
Friends, today in our research on this Christ that is our subject of discursion during this period, we are looking at him as the Judge of all men in the book of Judges.
Meanwhile, in this book of Judges we see God raising up judges that adjudicated in matters between God and men; and between men and men. However, we see that such judges and judgements were not without flaws and failings, pointing to the fact that there was to come a perfect Judge that will judge all men in righteousness, equity and judgement. That perfect judge of all men, no doubt, is Christ Jesus.
Today, I want us to examine his judgement in the following lights:
1. THE IMMINENT JUDGEMENT OF CHRIST:
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. (James5:8, 9).
One of the most imminent experiences of this life is the judgement of God. It is absolutely imminent and unpredictable. This is given the fact that nobody knows when it will take place. As a matter of fact, as soon as a man dies, he goes to face this judgement which will have Christ as the Judge. And, the unfortunate thing is that none of us know the time that he or she will die. That is why it is extremely important and imperative for us to be constantly prepared through sincere repentance and sustainable righteousness so that we will escape this judgement by this Judge of all men.
2. THE INSIGHTFUL JUDGEMENT OF CHRIST:
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. (Rom.2:16).
As we all know, man has, through years of civilization, evolve a system of adjudication through which all infractions and infringements of men are prosecuted and punished. However, we all know, as well, that this systems are fraught with a lot of human errors. They are, by no mean, foolproof. The only system of justice and judgement that is error-proof is that of our Lord Jesus Christ, This is due to the fact that it is going to be an absolutely insightful judgment through His Omniscient knowledge and ability. He sees and knows everything and with him all actions are weighed. That is why we need to be open and sincere with Him that we have to do, knowing fully well that He knows everything we do.
3. THE IMPARTIAL JUDGEMENT OF CHRIST:
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Rev.20:12).
Friends , truly, God’s judgement will be based on equity, justice and impartiality. All men will be judged according to what is written against them in God’s judgement book. However, I have a good news for us. Did you know that Christ, the ultimate Judge, Himself has faced judgement and suffered punishment for you? Yes, that is exactly what he did when he died on the cross at Calvary. He bore the punishment of your sins. He bled and died for you to be exempted from God’s judgement. Now, all you need is give your heart and life to him and he will save your soul from his judgement. Will you do that? Do it and you will glad you did.God bless you as you do that in Jesus name.
